Damscus knives are made from folded layers of differnent types of iron and steel. These are forged together and hammered out to hundreds of layers befor being manipulated to produce a surfavce pattern. The hard and soft layers of iron and steel produce unique metallurgic properties as well as wonderfull patterns.
